Personality: 

Generally speaking, Dax is silent, and tends to go on with his life without having to make contact with people. In fact, he avoids contact with them unless it's completely necessary, and once he's done that, he'd go back to ignoring humanity, unless he's made either an acquaintance or a friend. He is somewhat easy to irritate and piss off, as he has his own limits when it comes to his patience. His insults, however, are mostly half-hearted to the point that they're almost playful. He thinks that he can survive on his own without anyone's help, and that his decisions would be the most logical. He's a naive little dork.
Negative traits aside, he can be trusted with valuable things, feeling that it is his duty to protect and preserve those until the person who trusted him with them returns to retrieve them. He knows that he isn't one of the gods, but one of the creatures or servants below them, and he's come to accept that but he isn't going to give them the satisfaction of teasing him about his role.
He can be protective and defensive, particularly with those he has come to trust and befriend. If placed in a life or death situation, he will let those important to him take priority over himself.
In short, he can be a real jackass but he's a trustworthy guy underneath, kind of like a safe. 
You can trust him with your money or whatever because he'll literally protect what he's tasked to protect at whatever cost.

 
 

Powers/Weapons: 

WEAPON:
Dax's main weapon is his blade (which is inspired by the sabre claws ahahahahaRiddick idek). He summons it only when he's in immediate danger, two of them if he's in a tight spot. Paired with his quick reflexes he can parry and counterattack in a small amount of time. The blades, however, are not as lethal as they look, though they are still capable of causing major wounds. 
POWER:
As a guardian of treasure (material or metaphorical), he'll go to great lengths to see that they sustain the least damage possible. As such, his power is less offensive and more defensive. He is able to mark people he chooses with a feather symbol, sort of like a temporary tattoo on a person's skin, with a maximum of five people. The main role of it is to allow Dax to have a way of communication between that person and him, and this also makes him absorb a percentage of the damage they take, not affected at all by distance. That percentage lessens though, with more people.

There are two feathers he is able to mark people with. 
-Temporary: Lasts for 24 hours. Dax absorbs 25% of the damage if it's one person he's marked, 15% if it's two, and 10-5% if it's five people at most. 
-Permanent: Lasts forever. In death, the mark remains but no damage is taken. He absorbs around 25-40% of the damage. He gives this rather sparingly, and he can only ever give six feathers in a single lifetime. Causing him to give one makes one 'feather' from his back tattoo disappear.

Biography:  

Dax grew up in a small household, with him as the only child of a married couple who he didn't even notice were breaking up slowly and surely. He was closer to his mother, who felt that Dax was different from the other children from the start. His father, on the other hand, despised the idea of gods walking among them, so Dax and his mother kept this as their little secret. Dax discovered his ability when he was twelve, and he accidentally temporarily marked another child at school, and when they tripped he felt the pain instead. Through further experimentation, he discovered that there were temporary and permanent feathers, one of the latter he had given to his mother. 
One dinner, his mother finally suggested to his father that maybe gods walking among them wasn't such a bad idea- it surely didn't make life any different than it already was. He was enraged by this idea and Dax's instincts kicked in and tried to protect his mother, which only resulted in him being knocked aside and absorb the pain that came from the beating his mother was getting. Having not developed a high tolerance for pain, he passed out. Once he finally woke up, she was only barely alive, and his father was missing. After his mother breathed her last, he left his broken home to live out on the streets. He knew his father wouldn't be the only one against deities and creatures living amongst them, but he had no choice but to deal with it, and stay low. He found an abandoned building and made it his nest, away from all the people he could possibly get attached to.
It was another day when he met Elisha, and thank god he did, because he was beginning to lose hope for everyone else in the world in his paranoia. After he discovered the similarities they shared with him, he began to stick by him more and more, until he finally acknowledged that he had made a friend. Having grown protective of the closest friend he has, he would constantly give Elisha a temporary feather every day they met since he discovered about the now violent nature of Elisha's mother. 
Dax now lives alone in the same abandoned nest, with frequent visits from Elisha, or him visiting them.

Miscellaneous:

-You think that spine looking thing is just there to look cool? He has a small spinal problem that acts up (he has the tendency to slouch) so that thing keeps it straight. When it isn't busy regulating the state of his spine curvature, then it's there just to look cool, or sends him more direct signals about the state of the people he's marked. Bam.
